GATI (Government Aviation Training Institute) was set up in 1946 to bring about a quantum improvement in the standards of flying and ground training of Commercial Pilots in the Country as Orissa Flying Club.

It was merged with the Orissa Government Aviation Department In 1974 and Government Aviation Training Institute (GATI) came into being. The Institute has since then trained a large number of commercial pilots some of whom are commanders in various Airlines.

GATI is a dream of Mr. Biju Patnaik, an Aeronautical Engineer, Navigator, An Ace Pilot, Industrialist, an Eminent Freedom Fighter and above all a Crowning Statesman of National and International Repute.

GATI aims to be one of the premier Institute in this part of the Country to provide a bouquet of training programs encompassing the entire aviation domain, thus offering illustrious career options to the youth.

COMMERCIAL PILOTS LICENCE Eligibility Class XII pass with Physics & Mathematics Entry Age – 17 yrs You should be medically fit as per the standards laid down by D G C A Should pass the aptitude test conducted by the Institute. You must have strong determination and passion for flying and commitment to become a pilot.

PRIVATE PILOTS LICENCE FOR PERSONAL FLYING ONLY

Eligibility

• You should have passed class 10 and had Physics and Math's as your compulsory subjects
  
  Your age should not be less than 16 yrs.
  
  You should be medically fit as per the standards laid down by D G C A
  
  You must have strong determination and passion for flying and commitment to become a pilot.
  
  Should pass the aptitude test conducted by the Institute.
